After so many years these cabinets may start showing signs of deterioration that could leave their abilities to protect your cylinders compromised. Once a cabinet starts showing these signs of wear it is a good idea to look into some options on replacing them. If your cabinets are outdoors the elements will start wearing them down as soon as you set them up in their location. If your cabinets are indoors they will last you longer but will also start to break down at a more rapid pace if their in an environment that is not light and temperature controlled. Some of the early signs of wear will be color fade and squeaky hinges. Then the cabinet can start to oxidize and rust. Once the cabinet begins to rust, the rest of its deterioration is inevitable. Within a few years you will need to replace the cabinet or risk failing your next inspection. There are also elements of deterioration you will be unable to see. If you have special sealed cabinets the seals could lose their effectiveness over time. If you have fire sprinklers inside of the cabinet they could also malfunction with age. As soon as you start spotting signs of wear on your cabinets it is a good idea to look at some options on replacing them. You can opt to go with brand new cabinets or refurbished cabinets.
